விவரிப்பு│description: 2500 years ago when the winners & victors of various continents were busy writing history – literally His’story – there stood an exception. She was a poet & a potter by profession from Venni. When the great king Karikala Chozhan won the biggest war of his time, Kuyathiyar went to him not to sing his praise but to criticise the emperor! Today in India the life of potters is more than pathetic. If we have completed schooling I have to say we are lucky. Education is still a luxury for many women across the globe. Kuyathiyar not only rose to the power of education but she also wrote herself into the Sangam Literature. This beautiful literature was written by small farmers, potters, conch cutters, blacksmiths, carpenters, etc; not just by the literati. Our art is an ode to all the women like Kuyathiyar. Our art is also a Kelvi (question)- How can we spread education the fastest, before we demand our society to excel in meritocracy? Kelvi Vaazhthi Kalvi Vaazhthuvom! PS: Today the word “kalvi” may mainly mean education, but the Sangam used it mainly for “Education of Life” – wisdom.
