Exhibition: Reflections of the national leader

The life vision and mission of the national leader of Tamil Eelam, Hon. Velupillai Prabakaran, was self-determination for Eelam Tamils and self-governed Tamil Eelam. The liberation movement he led focused on the liberation of the land and the people!

“‘Separatism’ is a wrong concept. This cannot be applied to our struggle. We are fighting for national liberation on the basis of the right of self-determination of our ethnic community.”
– Hon. Velupillai Prabakaran

To understand his life vision, study his reflections (see the reference)

“The necessary first step for social change is social awakening.”
– Hon. Velupillai Prabakaran

The visionary of self-determination for people of Tamil Eelam was brought to reality based on the reflections of the national leader of Tamil Eelam, Hon. Velupillai Prabakaran. The de facto state of Tamil Eelam had several divisions within defense and civil administration for a self-governing country for Eelam Tamils. The de facto state of Tamil Eelam was built up and operated by thousands of Tamil civil servants and the freedom fighters of Tamil Eelam. See also the exhibition “De facto state of Tamil Eelam”.

“கட்டி எழுப்பப்படவுள்ள தமிழீழத்தின் வளர்ச்சிக்கு அயுதத்தை மட்டும் நம்பியிராமல், அனைத்துத் துறைகளிலுமே வளரவேண்டும் என்பதில் நான் அக்கறையாக உள்ளேன்.”
– மேதகு வே. பிரபாகரன்

“For the development of yet to be established Tamillam, I do
not have trust in arms alone; I am very keen that there should
be development in all fields.”
– Hon. Velupillai Prabakaran

The exhibition of “De facto state of Tamil Eelam” (தமிழீழ நடைமுறை அரசு) along with the “Reflections of the national leader” (தேசியத் தலைவரின் சிந்தனைகள்) were firstly exhibited at Maveerer Cup 2023 on the 11th and 12th of November 2023 at Fjellhamarhallen, Lørenskog. Then at Tamil Eelam National Remembrance Day on 27th November 2023 at Tærudhallen in Skedsmokorset. It was re-exhibited at Maveerer Cup 2024 on the 02nd and 03rd of November 2024 in Fjellhamarhallen, Lørenskog.

The exhibition showcase eight of many civil administrative divisions and couple of the defence forces of the de-facto state of Tamil Eelam. It demonstrates the development and continuity of the Tamil aspiration for sovereignty – the right to rule over their traditional homeland to protect and preserve education, language, culture and land. The armed phase of the Tamil liberation struggle developed from the Tamil people and manifested itself as a Tamil guerrilla group. But it emerged as a socio-political sustainability that aimed for a democratic governance for the Eelam Tamils.

The exhibition of “De facto state of Tamil Eelam” (தமிழீழ நடைமுறை அரசு) along with the “Reflections of the national leader” (தேசியத் தலைவரின் சிந்தனைகள்) is made available publicly to honour and celebrate his 70th birthday. We thank Tamil Youth Organisation – Norway for contributing the exhibition to include in the Community Archives of Norwegian Tamils.

“Tamillam is a fertile land; country full of many resources. It has water resources, land resources and human labour creative resources that can lead to the path of development. We should identify these resources which have been given to us as gift of nature and bring them to maximum use. We should increase 290 Selbstvernichtung durch göttliche Askese production on the basis of expert planning, to fulfil the needs of the people.”
– Hon. Velupillai Prabakaran
